A great deal of our success at CasCan Mining comes about from our effective ability to both develop and manage mining operations, this being only possible by being effectively integrated with the social and physical environment of the communities we operate in as well as with our valued personnel. Therefore we at CasCan Mining are totally committed to our efforts to support the rights, traditions and cultures of local indigenous communities as well as to our personnel’s safety, health and development.
We recognize the value in accepting the rich diversity represented by our employees and their communities regarding their cultural heritage. From their traditions and unique cultural perspectives we can learn a great deal of respect and understanding from peoples who have been an integral part of this region for such a long period of history and have over this time become connected with this land on a spiritual basis.
To aid in efforts to fully embrace and relate to the range of cultures and traditions present within our workforce and the communities in which we operate we ensure that all of our personnel are given necessary training and support to understand and appreciate the rich dynamics represented. We engage the services not only of respected social anthropologists to advise on the drafting of company procedures, but make a concentrated effort to involve indigenous cultural leaders to teach us about their customs and beliefs.
